Development of information technology has given substantial impetus to the evolution of all spheres of social life. Amid the progress of digital communications, IT applications in medicine have become one of society's urgent needs. At the same time, the formation of the electronic healthcare institution had its own characteristics and specificities, which became prerequisites for redefining one of the basic principles of healthcare - the principle of doctor-patient confidentiality.

The panel will discuss development prospects of legislation concerning medical confidentiality and personal data, including the procedure and grounds for the disclosure of this information and third-party risks; provision of access to the information about someone's state of health after their death, security of the information constituting medical secrecy, introduction of artificial intelligence technology, as well as other issues, including legal aspects of medical confidentiality in the framework of telemedicine consultations.
