Video Addresses for SPBILF 9 ¾: Vaccination by Law Participants

Dear participants and guests,

I am pleased to welcome you at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, which has once again become a unique discussion platform bringing together leading lawyers, scholars, government and business representatives from different countries.

Speakers and moderators will discuss professional issues of law improvement, digital law and justice, tax and antitrust regulation. And, of course, modernization of law in the changing world will be one of the main topics this year. The coronavirus has taken millions of lives and poses a serious threat to all of humanity, negatively affecting the social and economic development of states.

Russia is active in the fight against this dangerous disease and a lot has been done to counteract the epidemic. Our country was one of the first to develop and introduce vaccines and begin mass vaccination of Russian citizens. Thanks to this tremendous work we managed to improve the epidemiological situation and reduce the number of people affected by the disease.

The fight against the pandemic has raised many legal issues: what are the legal consequences of vaccination certificates, how to preserve medical confidentiality in the era of digitalization? I am sure that the intense business programme of the Forum will give you an opportunity to analyze the existing problems and jointly find ways to solve them.

I wish all participants fruitful work, interesting discussions, good health and well-being.
