St. Petersburg International Legal Forum Award “Contribution to the Development of Legal Integration in the Eurasian Space”

V St. Petersburg International Legal Forum award “Contribution to the Development of Legal Integration in the Eurasian Space” is granted every year.

The Award laureates of 2015 are B.M.Imashev, Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Republic, A.A.Mordashov, Chairman of the Committee on Integration, Trade and Customs Policy and WTO of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Board, PAO Severstal, S.A.Smirnova, Director of Russian Federal Center of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, traditionally presents the awards to the laureates.“I am pleased to take part in the ceremony of granting awards for the development of legal integration in the Eurasian space. It is a good tradition. First of all, I heartily congratulate the laureates for the high estimate of their professional competence and achieved results. It is symbolic that the laureates represent not only state authorities, but also business and expert community”, he said. “Every laureate participated personally in the preparation of the Eurasian Economic Union’s key documents for their adoption, and this itself is a big achievement, because we did it for the first time. As everything, you do for the first time, this work was complicated, especially because it was necessary to bring together positions of different countries, even those that are neighbors and have very good relations. Anyway it is a work and a quite complicated one”, - added Prime Minister.

We would like to remind you that St. Petersburg International Legal Forum Award was introduced by the Organizing Committee in 2014. The organizers designed this award as Forum’s contribution to the development of international legal cooperation and an impetus for the active engagement of lawyers into the integration processes in the Eurasian zone.

The award of laureates was preceded by the thorough selection process based on the evaluation of bids submitted by all participants via the Forum’s web site. The mission of choosing the winners was entrusted to the independent expert board consisting of Deputies Ministers of Justice of Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, the representatives of the Eurasian Economic Union bodies, heads of the main entrepreneurs associations and also the leading experts in legal issues and international relations.
